State Mandated Yearly Screenings

Brazos ISD performs the following screenings:

• Vision and Hearing

           Pre-K

           Kindergarten

           First Grade

           Third Grade

           Fifth Grade

           Seventh Grade

           All new students to the district 

• Spinal Screenings

         Girls will be screened in 5th grade and 7th grade

         Boys will be screened in 8th grade

Referrals

If necessary, a referral letter will be sent home with your student after a screening. A referral means that there is an indication that your student may have a vision/hearing/spinal problem. We urge you to take him/her to an appropriately licensed professional for further evaluation. Once your student is evaluated, please return the results to the school nurse.
