Dear Students and Families,
Hello! My name is Susan Martin, and I am very excited to be your Science and Social Studies teacher this year. We’re going to have a fantastic time exploring the world around us through hands-on science lab experiments and embarking on an exciting journey through American history in Social Studies.
I graduated from the University of Houston–Clear Lake in 1986 with a Bachelor of Science in Medical Technology. Before I became a teacher, I worked for several years as a Medical Technologist in the Hematology Lab at Parkland Hospital in Dallas. In 1996, my family and I moved to Wallis, and in 2001, I began my teaching career — a journey I truly love.
I’m married to an Aggie Entomologist, and we have two wonderful sons — one is 36 and the other is 32. Outside of the classroom, I enjoy fishing, gardening, cooking, sewing, traveling, and crocheting. My husband and I are also foodies who love discovering new restaurants and cuisines around the Houston area.
Building strong and positive relationships with both my students and their families is very important to me. Please know that I am always here to support your child’s learning. If you ever have a question or concern, don’t hesitate to email me or call the school and leave a message. My conference period is from 1:00 to 1:45 p.m.
I look forward to a fun and engaging school year together!
Warm regards,
Susan Martin
