Welcome Back

I am Mona Norris and I am excited to be teaching IPC, Physics and Forensics. I am starting my 39th year in education and my 8th year at Brazos. I am a Brazos Alumni (1978) and received a Bachelors Degree from Sam Houston State University. During my years of teaching, I have educated 4th graders through Seniors.  I look forward to another amazing year and please reach out to me with any questions or concerns.

Integrated Physics & Chemistry:  Lessons for Week 15

Mon. - Students will read a short article about Heterogeneous and Homogeneous Matter, and answer comprehension questions.

Tues. -  Students will make a diagram of Classifying Matter using correct terminology and definitions. 

Wed. - Students will conduct a Lab: Classifying Matter Stations - identifying the different matter, and answering questions. 

Thurs. - Students will read and answer comprehension questions about Purity of Water and Food Chemistry. 

Fri. - Students will watch a video about Mixtures and Solutions by Annette Pauley. then answer questions. 

Forensic Science:  Lessons for Week 15. 

Mon. - Students will review and practice calculating Medullary Index of hair.

Tues. - Students will conduct a Lab: Who Killed Mr. Big - Hair Evidence Analysis, collect data, and answer conclusion questions. 

Wed. - Students will review Hair Analysis for a test. 

Thurs. -  Students will demonstrate knowledge of hair Analysis on a test. 

Fri. -  Students will watch Forensic Files : Hairline and answer questions. 

Physics: Lessons for Week 15 

Mon. - Students will take a quiz over Position/Time Graph concepts and will take notes and learn about velocity/time graphs.

Tues. - Students will practice analyzing and interpreting velocity/time graphs.

Wed. - Students will conduct a Lab: Skip, Run, Walk, Rest  -  using motion detectors, collect data, graph results, and answer conclusion questions. 

Thurs. - Students will continue Lab:  Skip, Run, Walk, and Rest. 

Fri. - Students will finish Lab: Skip, Run, Walk, and Rest. 

Grades:                           

Minor - 60%      Daily worksheets, Homework, Labs  (12+)       

Major - 40%      Tests, Quizzes, Projects (2+)

 

My tutorial schedule is :   Monday and Wednesday 7:30-7:50      I am available as needed.
