I am Juan Olivo
Educator | Special Education Teacher | Passionate About Lifelong Learning
I am an experienced educator currently teaching Special Education at Brazos High School in 2025. With a strong commitment to student development and a diverse teaching background, this marks my sixth year in education.
I earned my degree from Sul Ross State University, which laid the foundation for my career in education. Over the years, I have had the privilege of teaching in various capacities. In 2020, I taught Special Education at South Houston High School, where I developed a deep understanding of supporting students with diverse learning needs. In 2021, I taught a Kinesiology course at the University of Wisconsin - Eau Claire, where I shared my passion for physical education and wellness with undergraduate students.
In 2022 and 2023, I taught World Geography at Woodville High School, where I worked to foster global awareness and cultural understanding among my students. In 2024, I expanded my expertise by teaching Financial Mathematics at Woodville High School, equipping students with the practical skills they need to succeed in the real world.
Now, in 2025, I am back in the Special Education field at Brazos High School, where I am dedicated to creating an inclusive and supportive learning environment that helps students thrive.
Outside of teaching, I enjoy staying active through pickleball and traveling. I love exploring new places and experiencing different cultures with my wife, Laurin, and our daughter, Riley. These activities not only enrich my life but also help me bring new perspectives into my teaching.
My journey in education has been incredibly fulfilling, and I am committed to continuing to grow both professionally and personally. I am excited for the years to come as I strive to make a lasting impact on my students' lives.
Our vision is to inspire each student to become a productive citizen who demonstrates leadership, passion, and self-reliability. We foster a culture of respect, community, perseverance, and achievement.
