Our running program will be every Friday during class time. If weather conditions prevent the class from going outside, we will run in the gym. Students will jog/walk for 15 minutes around a designated course. For each lap or sprint completed, credit is given to the student. Motivational prizes are given for every 5 miles jogged/walked.
Goals:
- Improve cardiovascular fitness and aerobic endurance
- Establish a foundation for learning good running form
- Learn proper jogging and muscle stretching techniques
- Strengthen and increase flexibility of the body (feet, ankles, knees, legs and hips)
- Knowledge that running increases the ability to perform better in all sports
