Hello! My name is Autumn Becerra and I am the high school art & theatre teacher. This is my second year teaching and I am so excited to have you in class! 

I graduated from the University of the Incarnate Word in December 2023 with my Bachelor of Arts in Theatre Arts. While I was in college, I found a passion for costume design and technology. I have always loved history, costumes, and drawing, and costume design allowed me to have the best of all the worlds! I also began heavily experimenting with watercolor paint, charcoal, and oil pastels, which I have grown to love to use! Upon graduating from undergrad, I began subbing, and fell in love with helping to shape young minds. 

This year I am the director for the Cougar Stage Company & the BHS chapter of the International Thespian Society, sponsor for the National Art Honor Society, and assisting Mrs. Divin as the UIL prose and poetry coach.

¡Hola! Mi nombre es Autumn Becerra y soy la profesora de arte y teatro de la escuela secundaria. ¡Este es mi segundo año enseñando y estoy muy emocionada de tenerlos en clase!

Me gradué de la Universidad del Verbo Encarnado en diciembre de 2023 con una Licenciatura en Artes en Artes Teatrales. Mientras estaba en la universidad, encontré una pasión por el diseño de vestuario y la tecnología. Siempre me ha encantado la historia, los disfraces y el dibujo, ¡y el diseño de vestuario me permitió tener lo mejor de todos esos mundos! También comencé a experimentar mucho con acuarelas, carbón y pasteles al óleo, ¡y he llegado a amarlos! Al graduarme de la universidad, comencé a hacer suplencias y me enamoré de ayudar a moldear las mentes jóvenes.

Este año soy la directora de la Cougar Stage Company y del capítulo de BHS de la Sociedad Internacional de Terciarios, patrocinadora de la Sociedad Nacional de Honor en Arte, y estoy ayudando a la Sra. Divin como entrenadora de prosa y poesía de UIL.

P.D. No soy hablante nativa de español, pero estoy aprendiendo, así que por favor tengan paciencia :)
