I now send out a 6-weeks report card to show what lessons they have been taught and how well they did on the Mastery Checks. Mastery Checks are presented every 10 to 15 lessons. This assesses whether the students are understanding and retaining what is being taught.  These Mastery Checks will be sent home with a grade on them, letting parents know how their child is progressing, but they do not count toward their accumulative grade point average like core subjects.
