You have landed on my about me page, so let me tell you a little about me.

Teaching Experience

Hi there! I'm Amy Farris and I teach 3rd grade English. I have been teaching 3rd grade since 2019, prior I was a Special Education Teacher. I also tutored college students at WCJC at both the Richmond and Sugar Land campuses for roughly 7 years. I have a bachelor's of fine arts degree in English and Sculpture from Sam Houston State.

Teaching Philosophy

When it comes to teaching, I believe it is about developing strong relationships that tap into students' passions and provide relevancy to students and allows them to make connections with the curriculum. I champion what is best for students in all decisions and I model lifelong learning in my personal and professional life.

I grew up watching Fred Rogers on Mister Rogers' Neighborhood. Thus, his philosophies have been highly influential in my teaching career and personal life. So I will leave you with one of his quotes.

"As human beings, our job in life is to help people realize how rare and valuable each one of us really is, that each of us has something that no one else has- or ever will have- something inside that is unique to all time. It's our job to encourage each other to discover that uniqueness and to provide ways of developing its expression."

Our vision:

BRAZOS ISD inspires each student to become a productive citizen who demonstrates leadership, passion, and self-reliability. We foster a culture of respect, community, perseverance, and achievement.
