Hello! My name is Kimberly Etheridge and I am so excited and honored to be the new principal of Brazos Elementary School. I am a Fighting Texas Aggie and graduated from Texas A&M in 1994 with a Communications degree. After working in the business world for several years, I decided to go back to school to get my teaching certification. I absolutely found my calling when I began my journey in education as a 4th grade teacher at Bowie Elementary in Lamar. Growing the minds and hearts of children is truly a blessing.
Several years into teaching, I chose to pursue a Master of Education in Administration and Leadership from the University of Houston-Victoria. Afterwards, I was able to grow my leadership skills as an instructional facilitator at Jackson Elementary in Lamar. During this time, I was fortunate to be part of a passionate leadership team and staff that turned a low performing campus into one of success and pride. For the past 6 years, I have been the principal at Eagle Lake Primary School, a PreK through 2nd Grade campus. This year marks my 19th year in education and I am excited to add upper elementary to my repertoire once again and look forward to a wonderful and successful year at Brazos Elementary.
I truly believe that all children can learn and be successful with encouragement and a strong partnership between teachers, parents and administrators. It is going to be an amazing year!
