About the Board of Trustees

The Brazos ISD Board of Trustees consists of seven members. Board members shall be elected for three-year terms, with elections conducted annually. Election of Board members shall be by position. After each canvass of the election, the board will elect a president, vice-president and secretary to serve a one-year term.

The next Board of Trustees election is scheduled for May 2, 2026. The positions up for election are 1, 2 and 3.Brazos ISD holds joint elections with the City of Wallis.

Terms and Election Schedule

Board members shall be elected for three-year terms, with elections conducted annually, as follows:

  • The election for positions 1, 2, and 3 shall be held in 2026, 2029, 2032 and in three-year intervals thereafter.
  • The election for positions 4 and 5 shall be held in 2027, 2030, 2033 and in three-year intervals thereafter.
  • The election for positions 6 and 7 shall be held in 2028, 2031, 2034 and in three-year intervals thereafter.

  • The first day that candidates may file for the May 2, 2026 Brazos ISD Board of Trustees Election is Wednesday, January 14, 2026 and the deadline is Friday, February 13, 2026 at 5:00PM. Monday - Friday from 7:30AM - 4:00PM
  • Applications filed are public records and can be reviewed upon request.

You may download the following forms, fill out and return to the central administration office located at 227 Educator Lane, Wallis, TX  77485. Or you can pick up a packet at the central office during the hours listed.
